My new thing

For several months now, I have been saying that I am going to have a big garden this year.  I’m not sure what first made me say this, but I do know that over time, the desire has matured.  I think the inspiration was fuel by a combination of things; my frequent trips last summer to our local farmer’s market, my relentless research of organic living, and from all of our friends with gardens.

A few years ago, we grew some tomato plants but that is the extent of my gardening roots.  I know enough now to know that I am stepping into a BIG project for myself but that’s okay… I love a good challenge. When you have a passion and a dream, you follow others who have the skills and success that you long to have someday. Who better for me to ask for guidance then my father-in-law, owner and operator, of Wagenmaker Greenhouse.  We now have a father/daughter day planned to plant my new organic seeds and to map out my first garden… Yay!

“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:22

You see, there’s a process for everything and I have something inside of me shouting for me to figure out the process of seed time and harvest.  I feel like God wants to show me something more about myself and how He created me, and its connected to a bigger picture than I realize.  Like there is something more for me to enjoy with this life that He has given me and He wants me to discover it.  I love that thought and I love the chase it i s producing.

I never would of thought that I would enjoy researching about composting and organic gardening as much as I do.  (True Story).  I just want to continue to learn about new things every year of my life and this year, we’ll go with gardening.

What does God have you chasing after this year?
