Have you ever had one of those day (or weeks) where you are on the verge of tears for no apparent reason? Well maybe if you had the time to list off all of the things on your plate and rolling around in your head, you might be able to put your finger on it, but you don’t. One thing turns into another and before you know it, you are in a fog so thick that you can taste it.
You hit your breaking point and the switch turns off upstairs and you decide that you are going to quit something that you have been called to do. Ya know, just throw in the towel and say that you are done and that it is just too much for you to bear. You’re not sure why those are the voices that are rolling around in your head but you can feel the tears wanting to burst forth.
You take a few minutes to go lock yourself in the bathroom to take a look in the mirror so you can gather your thoughts and then something inside of you tells you to pull it together.
You know full well that what you decide to do next will determine whether or not you remain in that place.
Sometimes all you need to do is go sit across the table from your besties and tell them what your feeling… Let them laugh with you until you pee your pants and then let them talk you back into reality. Their words bring comfort, support and relief all in one.
Ten minutes later, you feel on top of the world and are in deep conversation with how to change the world and how to inspire other women to do the same.
I don’t understand why God has made me so complex. I don’t get myself most of the time. I don’t think that I am supposed to either.
One thing I do know is that it is so important to surround yourself with women who will speak life into any situation. Find women who will live on mission with you no matter what comes along the away. Learn their dreams and listen to their hearts. Find friends who will cry with you and for you and that will be honest with you even if it hurts.
And when you do, be sure to thank God for them. Because they are a precious gift from Him.
