We live in the most Blessed country in the world. We have provisions and freedom that allow for us to enjoy life to its fullest.
The word “need” is in our everyday vocabulary but the understanding of it is not.
We busy ourselves up with agenda’s, budgets, big events, our favorite tv programs and so much more.
What if we have just become too busy for God?
I mean we do go to church on Sunday every week. Some of us also volunteer in a ministry outside of our church.
BUT our hunger for something fresh and new from God is long gone. We don’t have to look for Him to provide for our food and shelter.
He has to get our attention somehow.
His attempt to awaken us may not always seem as a gift – oh but it always is just that.
Sometimes it is in our weakness, or pain, or having to long for something – that we are able to actually feel God’s presence in our lives the most. He comes to sit with us and when He does, we are comforted for that brief moment. As He fixes our mess, we always manage to forget His loving touch and then we move on. (only to return again someday)
There is just nothing in this world that can satisfy like He can.
The joy and fulfillment that they all offer will always come to some kind of an end and leave us searching for MORE.
John 15:11 – I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
